MOTUL ANNOUNCED AS OFFICIAL LUBRICANT OF ICONIC PRO-AM SERIES.MOTUL, Europe’s leading lubricant manufacturer is pleased to announce a technical partnership with the Yamaha RD Pro-Am series. The iconic Pro-Am series will reappear at Silverstone this year for an inaugural race as part of a new initiative to capture the undisputed leader in one-make motorcycle racing series. As with the original series in 1981, the 2015 event will feature a variety of riders, mainly from the original era but also capturing the star-making 250cc Production Clubmans class and a mix of riders who have raced at the highest level. The new Pro-Am will feature 24 LC250 Yamahas, transformed from potential candidates for the breakers yard to absolute pristine condition by Daryll Young at IDP Moto. “The idea of reviving Pro-Am hasn’t stopped gathering momentum since it was first discussed back at the end of March,” explained Young. “Since then we have scoured Europe for 250 LCs and that search has been supported by Mark Lowther of MSCM to ensure we managed to get the machinery needed.” Young added: “We’ve then worked with the MotoGP promoters from the Circuit of Wales and with Niall Mackenzie to compile the list of riders who will undoubtedly put on a great show on the Sunday afternoon of the MotoGP on August 30.” Richard Barrett, Motul Brand Manager – Motodirect Ltd commented “I can remember riding an LC in the late 80’s like it was yesterday.
